Cross training

So does walking* count as crosstraining??

Seriously. I really want to know what you think.

*consider that I'm carrying a 26 pound baby/backpack and throwing the ball for Jonah

  • I'd say it counts as a workout! My arm muscles have never been more defined as they are today, purely from lugging my two babes around!

  • Oh yeah. I walk twice a week with two different friends. We push ourselves, and I definitely consider the walks cross training.

  • Absolutely!
I am also a big fan of ending every run with a walk. Not only does it help you cool down, but, because your heart rate is still high, it is a continuation of your workout and makes it easier to extend your run length in the future.

  • Yes, especially if you take the logging road up the hill. That gets my calves burning even without the buddy in tow.
